Castle Giacomo is one of the most requested castles in the Chianti area.  The castle dates back to 1252, but it is supposed that it is much older. This castle is located in the Chianti Classico, in the heart of Tuscany, just 17 km from Florence, on the road to Siena through nine towns of the Chianti Classico.

This historic castle is surrounded by hills where the huge fresco blends the colors of the vineyards and the olive trees, the soft green of the meadows, pines, cypresses and woods. The many vineyards, dry-stone walls, flowers, and chapels in the country make a beautiful backdrop for your Tuscany wedding.

The castle was constructed during the Middle Ages and served as Siena's first line of defense against attacks from the south.

The heart of the estate is its meticulously restored medieval castle and hamlet offering wonderful Tuscan hospitality in luxuriously appointed rooms and suites. A warm and inviting Tavern serves traditional lunches and dinners as well as wines by the glass. The setting is rustic Tuscan in the vaulted cellars with wooden tables, broad brick arches and oversized wooden casks. Surrounding the castle are peach and plum orchards, olive groves, vineyards and woods teeming with wild game. Today, the castle and its hamlet are the crown of the 7,100 acre estate which produces some of the finest wines.

For your Tuscany wedding, the castle offers 14 rooms and suites, each in different sizes, decor and location. All have beautifully selected furnishings and fabrics and luxurious amenities with a King size bed. In addition, the five suites have a Queen size sofa bed in a separate room. Guest rooms and suites are located inside the 18th century hamlet walls and towers in original stone houses that have been completely updated offering all possible comforts. Wedding Receptions

• From 10 to 120 guests can be accommodated for a formal wedding banquet in various rooms. Depending on your wedding party size there are many different options.
• Other smaller halls can welcome a maximum of 32 or up to 60 guests in formal or informal surroundings.
• Menus are 5 courses paired with the estate's wines.
• Wedding receptions are catered but there is also a Taverna restaurant  located in the vaulted cellars of the Castello. Opened for lunch and dinner, it offers a traditional tuscan cooking.
• Aperitifs can be served on the terrace or in the Castle's courtyard.

Wedding Ceremonies

• There is a chapel on site and in the Montalcino area there are several Catholic churches for your Tuscany wedding ceremony.
• Protestant and symbolic ceremonies can be arranged in the castle's halls or courtyard.

Villas and Apartments

The main building has five self-catering apartments with 2 double bedrooms each and one for two persons. The apartments are individually named and each is unique with a style of its own.  In a separate Villa there are four independent suites that can be rented individually or as a two suites apartment or as a whole villa with four double bedrooms. Finally there is a detached villa with two double bedrooms.

A small private Restaurant offers breakfast and traditional Tuscan cuisine.

Casa Colletta is rented as a single property with the exclusive use of all its facilities making it ideal for a wedding.

The MAIN estate’s accommodation capacity is 60 people in total.

Country House (main venue) has 23 double bedrooms plus 15 single extra beds totaling 60 sleeps. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.
They rent the entire property exclusively (including the exclusive use of the restaurant) on a two night or three night minimum stay depending on the season.
Minimum stay of two nights in low season (April and October).
Minimum stay of three nights in high season (May to September included).
They accept exceptionally two night rentals in high season during specific midweek dates.

RECEPTIONS

Wedding receptions at Casa Colletta offer in-house and external catering options.

The venue has its own restaurant located in the main building next to the old tower. They propose only traditional Tuscan cuisine, with an experienced "mamma chef" performing the favourite family recipes. Simpler meals are always available on request for lunch or dinner any day of the week. On request they also hold cooking classes. The estate grows its own vegetables and spices totally organic and exclusively for the restaurant as well as our extra virgin olive oil.
