There is something magical about Lake Orta with its enchanting Island of San Giulio rising in the middle and its charming village of Orta. You will feel as if you are wandering inside a picture perfect postcard. We think it is the most magical of all the lake locations and an intimate setting for a civil wedding in Italy. Rising in the distance are magnificent mountains while cheerful flowering balconies seem to greet you at every corner.
Lake Orta offers brides and grooms several wonderful options for civil marriage locations. You could get married in the town hall; a 16th century frescoed building complete with bell tower and romantic outside stairway.
Alternatively, one of the Northern Lakes most requested locations is the elegant Villa Bossi, a 17th century villa which faces the shores of the lake. The interior is furnished with antiques and quite exquisite. An outside civil ceremony is also possible in the lovely terraced garden of Villa Bossi with its wisteria arbor, famous salmon colored rose bushes of the local “Orta San Giulio” rose, and bright flower beds. The bride can arrive at her ceremony by boat stepping through the delightful wrought iron gate!
