The venue was everything we expected and more! It was the highlight of the trip for everyone. The castle staff did a great job as well. I know their reception desk was hit with several requests and even shipped Ashton’s dress back.   

We received plenty of compliments on the décor and DJ as well as the venue. Overall we were extremely satisfied with how the wedding worked out and all the effort you and the vendors put into making the day happen. We will be quick to send friends and family your way if they have the ambition to plan a wedding in Italy.

Roland’s Catering – where to begin! While we had many critiques after the tasting, Roland’s was the vendor that made our wedding as magical as it was. Every single detail they provided – from the servers’ kindness and fun personalities, to the champagne on a tray for Chase & I whenever we entered a room, to the cake cutting with more champagne, to them bringing around extra of the courses to ensure guests were well fed, to the small trays of fruit & cookies both nights, to the beautiful display of digestif. Every single aspect of their service was phenomenal – we cannot say enough glowing things about Roland’s and are so thankful you brought them to us as a vendor. We could not recommend them to future couples enough.

Aberrazioni Photos – oh my goodness. We had so much fun with the photographers & videographers on Saturday night. They were kind, patient, fun, creative, and asked to take unique shots I would never think of! On top of all that, they were as happy as we were! We fed off of their energy and had the best time during every shoot. We cannot wait to see the final product. 

Flowers – Alé was where I think I gave the most direction… so I knew that if anyone was annoyed with me, it would be him! But when we knew we were in good hands was when we met Alé in Florence in March – his attention to detail while we told him what we liked and didn’t was impeccable. We loved working with him. And the flowers both nights were drop dead gorgeous – both were more beautiful than we could have imagined. 

Tuscan Lab – Gloria was so lovely to work with. She understood immediately what our vision was, brought it to life, and pivoted with every change we requested. Her work is absolutely stunning. I wish she lived in the US so I could continue to work with her for all of my stationary needs :). 

Kaleydo Lighting – while we didn’t meet with Kaleydo, we are so thankful for all of their hard work. The lights, staging, music were all worth it and we can’t imagine the weekend without everything they provided. They brought our weekend to life!

DIW Team – thank you to everyone who worked on making our wedding weekend possible. We loved working with Rosanna and the DIW team and could not recommend DIW enough. Your team’s organization and work through the content management system made our lives so much easier since we were both juggling a lot – with being in graduate school, living in different cities, etc. I will definitely write a Wedding Wire and Google review – if you don’t see it in the next week or so, please remind me! And if there is any other way I can support your business or be a reference, please let me know.

Gondi Palace  – was the most stunning venue and feels big enough for a wedding! Our favorite parts – the room where we ate dinner, the downstairs and upstairs terraces. One consideration for future couples, it seems like the person in charge monitoring the villa didn’t let some guests onto the small upstairs terrace that was surrounded by jasmine bushes (which we thought would be available to guests). In addition, they didn’t allow guests to bring drinks up to the top terrace (which we thought guests would be allowed to do). So there were some strict guidelines to this venue that I think future couples should consider.

Villa di Maiano – I cannot recommend this venue enough. Our guests were shocked by each area of the venue and how special each moment and reveal was – from the Oak Garden, to the Italian Garden, to the Terrace, to the Main Room, to the Limonaia Isabella. If couples ask, the money is WORTH it for larger weddings because it gives you so much space for Plan A, and a great option for Plan B. And Isabella, the owner, was the sweetest and most warm person to work with. I will never forget her kindness when she first gave us a tour of the Villa back in July 2022. And when she brought around blankets on Saturday night of the wedding to keep our guests warm. Her hospitality was incredible. 

For Other Couples Considering Italy – getting married in Italy was the best decision we made. We were considering Italy or New York. Italy was able to give us a wedding that truly felt like a fairytale and unlike any wedding in the US we had ever been to. On top of that, the quality of the services and vendors in Italy were unparalleled. The Italian vendors truly cared about our event and went above and beyond to make us happy, which I think is unlike many US vendors who often surprise couples with extra fees and costs and don't show as much compassion in their work.

Please let me know if I am forgetting anyone – I am more than willing to write more for you and the team because I cannot recommend you all more! So whatever you need, please let me know.

Jacopo, quite simply, made our DREAMS COME TRUE, every vendor that we were matched with was of the highest quality, every decision we made was done with so much thoughtfulness and care, every last minute hiccup was taken care of without us having to worry about anything going wrong. And truly, our wedding flew by immaculately, and with both of us as the bride and groom being able to thoroughly enjoy every moment almost as if we were guests ourselves.

Another very important point is how well Jacopo and his team took care of our guests. Indian culture emphasizes hospitality and every guest has individually noted how thoughtful the entire experience felt for them. We had a lot of complicated religious and dietary restrictions that the team took the time to understand fully and accommodate for in the most seamless way. Everything we thought would be an added complication and a burden to the planning, was handled with so much respect, and everyone felt very well taken care of.

Our wedding was the greatest time of our lives and that is completely thanks to you and everyone at DIW and all of the vendors. You are all incredibly thoughtful, creative, passionate, and such wonderful people, who also happen to be the best wedding planners we could've asked for! 

We hope that our review really conveys to all future couples that they will be in the best hands, but also specifically we wanted to make sure that anyone planning an Indian wedding can rest easy that you all understand exactly how to plan every single culturally significant aspect while being flawless in every way! The biggest compliment we can give besides what we've already said, is how much our families have loved the wedding, and even made the note that weddings in India do not go as smoothly as this one did. 

We wanted to do some specific vendor shout outs as well: 

Alberto & Alessandra & team: We had noted that probably one of the most important aspects of our wedding would be the photos (since that's all we'll have from here on out) and A&A are such a joy to work with! We love their talent, their vision, their ability to pose for us when we are incredibly awkward and don't know what to do, and their fly on the wall approach made the wedding so fun for us. The teaser and preview photos are GORGEOUS can't wait for the rest! 

Indian services (pagdi tiers/ mehendi ladies/sari tiers/dhol players): We are just so impressed with the quality and attention to detail of everyone that provided Indian services for our weekend! Valentina is so knowledgeable and was so helpful with sourcing all of our materials for the ceremony, and Francesca is so talented and artistic (and her mehendi has darkened the most out of any we have ever seen before) - and the rest of the team was so kind and helpful. No one in our family felt like we had anything missing from a true Indian wedding because of this team! 

The catering. This could be a much longer paragraph, but the FOOD was INCREDIBLE. We always knew from the original tasting that the quality of the catering was going to be top notch, but one thing that stuck with us that you said Jacopo was that the service is what will blow us away, and it truly did. To see the care that was taken in all of the presentation and quality of the food, to taking care of all the dietary restrictions and specifically Dada/Dadi, to seeing the head chef himself behind so many live stations (even making our maggi dreams come true!) - food is the #1 most talked about part of an Indian wedding and this whole team went above and beyond. We'll be thinking about our menus and how they came together for a long time! And thank you for your patience as we sorted this out right up until the end, every bit of effort was well worth it 😄 

The lighting? The Sangeet stage? The ambiance? It was just gorgeous everywhere we looked! We remember the Kaleydo team being so passionate during our visit in March, but seeing what they were able to do was incredible. Every event felt so unique and special because of the elements they added, and seeing the disco ball in the cellar at the end was a massive highlight for us. Everything we chose was perfect! 

The Floral Team - Jacopo when you said Alessandrp would always over deliver, you were still somehow understating exactly what the decor would look like. The florals were SPECTACULAR. One thing we noted was how incredible it was that each time we walked into a new event, we had not needed to come see the prep or see it half built, we got to walk in and experience everything in full form and it blew us away. This felt even more special when we got to see our mandap for the first time. That is easily the most jaw dropping gorgeous mandap we have ever seen created! We felt very grateful that Fiorella put so much time and passion into decorating our events, they're amazing! 

Daniela (stationery) - We probably said thank you to Daniela so many times in our 40+ email thread but it's not enough once we got to see everything in person. Her designs are so special and so custom. Her vision worked perfectly with the decor of the venue, and it was so fun to point out to everyone that complimented her work that she hand-drew so many elements just for us. The monogram itself is worthy of a museum! We will be putting that design on a lot of our future stationery 🙂 

Andrea + the shuttle drivers - This was such a unique logic problem that Adeesh got to use his expertise on, and Andrea made this whole process so smooth! He was incredible to work with and his team was so efficient. Indian weddings are NEVER on time, and even with our few delays here and there, we were able to stay mostly on schedule because of the planning + Andrea's team! Everyone remarked that the shuttle system was very smooth and very reliable, and that was a huge relief to know that all the guests were able to navigate to, from, and around the property with so much ease! 

And of course - Jacopo + DIW - (Rosanna, Simona, Elizabeth, Junko) - We've already cried to you Jacopo so I hope you understand all of our gratitude, but to the whole team, you did this, and we will be eternally grateful! We are so happy we were able to work with you, and we will spend a lot of time convincing all of our newly engaged friends to do their weddings in Italy with you all! One of our favorite memories is getting to dance with the team at our After Party and we have some really fun disposable camera shots to prove it 🙂 

Jacopo also really got to know us throughout our time planning this wedding together, and as he got to understand what makes us happy his suggestions and ideas pulled the whole wedding together and we could really trust that he would always do what was in our best interest. It was incredibly liberating to know that your planning team is not just a team that is executing on a plan, but they’re a team that can intuit your feelings to make the wedding perfect for you!

Overall, we are overwhelmed with gratitude and love for everything that happened during our wedding! We will definitely see you soon, and please let us know if you are ever visiting California, we will do our best to host you the way you've hosted us for our celebration ❤️ 

Absolutely choose DIW for your wedding experience, it is the decision that set our wedding on the path for success and a memory that we and our guests will never ever forget!

During the wedding itself, Simona and Stefania were rock stars. Everything ran very smoothly behind the scenes, to the point that many of our friends and family noticed and were complimenting DIW's work. During the wedding weekend, unexpected weather came through and we had to make some last-minute adjustments to move some events indoors. All it took was a quick text or a little side conversation with Simona/Stefania, and then all of their magic -- coordinating with all the vendors, deciding how best to lay out the Plan B, etc. -- would "just happen." In the midst of all the wedding day stress/chaos, then this experienced day-of coordination was absolutely priceless.
